Previously on Crossroads:
- Jenny's photo appeared in the Heathbury Herald, which worried Max and Angel. - Max felt guilty after his night with Honey. - Scott was cautious about talking to his mother about Rio. - After talking to Vince, Helen prepared to open up to Virginia about her adopted parents.
"So what do you want to know?" Helen said with a sigh. Virginia looked into her daughters eyes for a second before asking a question. "What did they say to you at the funeral?" she began. Helen waited as she remembered the funeral. "It was horrible. Mum and Dad completely ignored me". Helen realised what she had just said. Virginia moved, turning to hide her face. "Mum, I didn't mean to..." Helen started. "It's all right Helen, I'm fine" Virginia said glancing back at her daughter. "So tell me more about it" she asked. Helen took hold of her mother's arm. "They told me how disappointed they were in me and that Rio was a disgrace" Helen said. Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke. "It was terrible mum" Virginia placed her arm around Helen.
Over at the Samson apartment, Max and Angel were still talking about the Jenny situation. "Why did you have to bring your affairs into my hotel Max, why?" Angel said. She had started to get angry, even hysterical. "Angel, come on. This isn't the time for this. We have to decide what we are going to do". Angel moved away from the mirror and looked back at her husband. "Nothing!" she replied, coldly. "What?" he asked, slightly surprised. "We aren't going to do a thing. You said that no one knew she was here, you'd been very careful. If no one knew she was here then we will be okay" Max sighed. Angel looked at him. "Please say she didn't leave that room when she was here" Max looked down at the floor. "She did, didn't she?" Max nodded a little. "How could you be so foolish Max?" she said angrily. Max stood up, after sitting on the bed, and walked towards his wife. He placed his hand in her arm, but she pushed him away. "Get away from me" she shouted.
Meanwhile in Joe's room he was delighted, having just received a call from a woman who had seen his sister. "When did you see her last?" he asked, eagerly. "It was a couple of weeks into January. She got on the train to London. We'd had a fight and she'd decided to leave. I haven't seen her since" the woman told him. "Where did she get on the train? Which station?" Joe asked, realising that there could be a video of Jenny getting on the train or maybe someone at the station had seen her since then. "Heathbury Station" the woman replied. "Was she meeting anyone in London?" he asked. "There was someone. I can't remember his name though. It started with `M'. I think it was Mark. He was a married man" she said. Joe smiled to himself. This could be the lead he was looking for. Joe finished talking to the woman. Cleo opened the door to Joe's room, hoping he'd got some good news. Joe smiled at her and she smiled back. After Joe had told Cleo about the conversation, they talked about this. "We have to go to Heathbury Station now" Joe said as he grabbed his leather coat.
"Please Angel" Max pleaded. "Right, where did she go?" Angel asked, realising that maybe this situation mightn't be as bad as she'd thought. "I don't know. I didn't ask her" Max said. Angel gave him a look of disgust. "No, too busy doing other things? Couldn't keep her hands off her I suppose" she retaliated. "Angel, that's not fair" he said. Angel didn't reply. "Look, I think that she was in King's Oak a couple of times and I think she had dinner in the restaurant once". "So she was in my restaurant. Half the staff probably saw her there"
Virginia was back at reception, while Honey was on her break. Vince walked up to Virginia. "So, how did it go?" he inquired. "Vince Vaccaro, I don't think that is any of your business!" Virginia snapped. "Oh fine" Vince said. He turned around and walked straight into Helen. "Ooh, back already I see. You just can't keep away" he remarked. "Yeah, whatever Vince" Helen said. Vince spotted Tracey at the bar talking to a young blonde haired man and thought that he would go and introduce himself. "Look at that body, those round muscles and that..." he said dreamily. "Bye Vince" Helen said she gently pushed him away. "So how are you?" Helen asked turning to her mother. "Well if Honey would actually do some work, rather than throw herself at anything in trousers I would be fine" Virginia replied sarcastically. "So what are you gonna get Rocky for his birthday?" Helen asked. "Well I was thinking a watch, as the last one he had was broken by Ms. Waddle over there" Virginia said, glancing over at Betty who was standing at the other side of the reception desk talking to Phil. "It's Waddel actually and maybe if you hadn't caused me to drop it with your screaming about some piece of gossip, then it wouldn't be broken" Betty interrupted. "Whatever" Virginia muttered under her breath. Helen smiled to herself, thinking that some things never change.
"So what are you going to get him?" Phil asked a minute later, as she and Betty walked into the housekeeping department. "Who?" Betty asked. "Rocky of course" Phil said. "Nothing, why should I get him anything?" Betty said.
Max walked along the corridor of the hotel. He was thinking about the Jenny situation, and how angry Angel was. He wondered if she would ever forgive him. A call from behind made him jump. Max turned to see Honey standing there, a wide smile on her face. "Look Honey" he started. She put her finger against his lips. "Ssshh, it was the same for me too" Honey straightened his tie before walking past him. She walked into the staff room and after making sure that it was empty, took out her mobile. She pressed a button and it started to ring. "It's me. Everything is going to plan" Behind Honey stood a puzzled Jimmy. "Who was that?"
Joe sighed as he took one last look back at Heathbury Station. Nobody had remembered seeing Jenny. And as for the video evidence he had seen it and it had made everything much more confusing. He had seen Jenny getting onto the train but, when her friend was gone, Jenny had gotten off the train again and had left the station. Joe then saw her in the car park, greeting a man. The man had dark hair, which seemed to be going grey, but his head couldn't be seen. He had gotten into a car and Jenny had left on foot, walking towards King's Oak. Joe knew he had seen the man somewhere before - but where? He started to speak to Cleo. "She has to be out there somewhere Cleo, she just has to be"
