Previously on Crossroads:

- Max moved Jenny's body from underneath the statue, unaware that Honey was watching his every move.
- Lola asked a handsome stranger called Carl Havers out on a date for Phil, although he was more interested in going to the casino.
- Sister Grace asked Angel whether she got along with Joe, under orders from Ethan Black.
- Joe admitted to Cleo that he hadn't contacted his mother about Jenny's disappearance.

Cleo and Joe were lying awake on his bed. "You've never talked about your mother before. Why haven't you contacted her?" Cleo asked. "Do we really have to talk about this Cleo?" Joe sighed. "Well you don't have to if you don't want to!" Cleo shrugged. "It's okay!" Joe replied. "What do you want to know?". "Well, what's her name?" Cleo asked. "Sylvia Roberts" Joe replied. "I see where Jenny got her surname from!" Cleo remarked. "Yeah, it's complicated!" Joe continued "Jenny was born before my parents married. After I was born Mum left Dad and they got divorced. We never heard from her again. Jenny resented Dad - they never got along. When she finished school she left home and we never heard from her again either". "That's terrible!" Cleo replied, hugging Joe. "What amazes me is that she was here! In this hotel! I mean, she must have been here just before I arrived!" said Joe. "I know!" Cleo replied "Which means we can't give up hope! You've got to talk to your mother Joe!" she continued. "No way!" Joe snapped "Not after what she did to us!". "But Joe! What if Jenny's staying with her! You'll never know if you don't speak to her!". Joe paused, before looking at his photo of Sylvia. "Perhaps you're right!" Joe said. "I always am!" Cleo grinned.

In reception, Virginia and Kate were chatting while Honey looked distracted. "So I take it we're not going to have any repeat performances from yesterday!" Virginia sneered to Kate sarcastically. "If you mean rolling around in the mud, hopefully not!" Kate laughed. "The drainage problems should be sorted out today. They just have to dig under the statue". Honey raised her eyebrows upon overhearing Kate, before the phone rang and she answered it. Just then the Wise sisters walked over the lobby, chatting about Phil's date with Carl. "So what does he look like?" Belle asked. "Oh, he's gorgeous! Tall, dark hair, well fit!" Phil grinned. "Ooh, does he have a nice voice?" Belle asked excitedly. "You'd better ask Lola!" Phil replied "She was the one who spoke to him!". "What, so you arranged the date for her?" Belle asked Lola. "Oh yeah!" Lola said uneasily "He had a nice voice though!" she said, changing the subject. "Sounded like he was from London!". "Ooh, I nice the sound of this man!" Belle grinned "When are you meeting him?" she asked Phil. "8 o'clock in the restaurant! I can't wait!" Phil replied, before rushing off to get her trolley. "Yeah, can't wait!" Lola said to herself, looking down at the floor. "What are you so edgy about?" Belle asked Lola. "Nothing!" Lola replied with a guilt-ridden look. Belle looked her as if she should know better. "Okay!" Lola sighed "I didn't exactly ask him out!". "What?" Belle exclaimed. "Well he just ran off! He was more interested in going to the casino!". Betty, who was just stepping out of the security office, hesitated upon hearing the word "casino" and stopped to listen to what the sisters were saying. "Well what are you going to do?" Belle asked Lola. "She's supposed to be meeting him tonight!". "Well, I'll just have to find him and tell him to meet her tonight!" Lola shouted back. "Now's your chance!" Belle replied, nodding towards Carl who was running down the stairs towards the doors. "Umm... Carl! Wait!" Lola shouted. "Can't stop, the casino will be opening now!" Carl shouted back. Betty looked suspiciously at Carl as he raced out of the hotel and pondered to herself about her own gambling addiction, before Virginia shouted "You might have time to dawdle around Betty Waddle, but this is a busy reception! I suggest you get back to your housekeeping or whatever you call it!". Betty glared at her "It's Wadde... oh, nevermind!" she said and stormed off.

"Now you get off to school with Cameron sweetheart, and no bunking!" Tracey said to Scott. "Yeah, Mum... whatever!" he sighed, nudging Cameron "Come on!" he said, as they walked off. Kate walked over to Tracey at the bar. "How's everything going?" she asked. "Yeah, fine!" Tracey smiled "It's good to see Scott mixing with other people finally, he's spent too much time on his own!". "I know!" Kate replied. "But I thought things were getting close between him and Rio? He's spending an awful lot of time with Cameron!" she said, observing the pair as they walked out of the hotel doors together. "Well, they're best friends!" Tracey pouted "What's wrong with that?". "Well... nothing!" Kate replied, smiling as she walked off to reception. Tracey pondered to herself as a guest arrived at the bar. "Yes, what can I get you?" she asked.

"It was lovely having you!" Angel smiled to Sister Grace as she prepared to leave. "It was lovely staying here!" Sister Grace smiled back "It's a lovely hotel you've got Angel, you should be very proud!". "Oh, I am!" Angel replied "Do come and stay with us again!" she continued. "I will! Now I must be off!" Sister Grace answered, heading off down the road. "Goodbye!" Angel waved to her, before looking back at Max with a sigh of relief. He walked over to her and gave her a hug. "Oh, Max! Thank goodness for that!" Angel said. "Don't worry Angel, Jenny's been moved where no-one will ever find her. We're never gonna hear about her again!" he smiled. "I hope so!" Angel smiled, as they walked back into the hotel.

"I don't believe it!" Ethan said in shock. "It's true!" Honey replied with a sly grin. "Max Samson has murdered Jenny Roberts and buried her outside the hotel! I saw him move the body from under the statue!". "Well, well, well!" Ethan smirked "I had Max Samson down as many things, but never a murderer!". Suddenly they spotted Sister Grace coming up the road. "You'd better get back!" Ethan said to Honey "Keep me informed!" he warned her. "I will do!" Honey grinned back before rushing back to the hotel. "Sister Grace!" Ethan said with a slimy voice "How nice to see you again! What have you found out for me?". Sister Grace sighed, clearly uneasy with the whole situation. "Nothing we don't already know. She wasn't too keen on talking about Joe Wynter, that's for sure!" she replied. "Well you keep digging!" Ethan instructed "Otherwise...". "I know, I know!" Sister Grace sighed, before heading off down the road carrying her bag, wiping a tear from her eye.

Over at the Cat In The Moon, Helen was serving drinks behind the bar when Rio burst through the door in tears. "I have enough of Scott and Cameron!" she cried. "What's happened now?" Helen sighed. "They ditched me during lunch! They always do it! They go off together without even saying where they're going!" Rio complained. Vince, who was sitting at the bar, raised his eyebrow in suspicion but remained silent. "Well that's it! I'm not talking to either of them again!" Rio sighed. "Aww, don't be like that! There must be a perfectly reasonable explanation!" Helen smiled. "Well I don't wanna hear it!" Rio snapped back, before grabbing her bag and running back out of the door, almost bumping into Ryan. "Hiya!" Helen grinned as she saw Ryan. "Seen my knight in shining armour anywhere?" Vince winked at Ryan. "Huh?" Ryan looked confused. "Nevermind!" Vince rolled his eyes and supped his drink. Oona came out to the bar with Sable in her hands. "Hiya Ryan! Have you seen my new cat?" she smiled. Suddenly Vince sneezed. "Aww, is your hayfever still bothering you?" she asked Vince. "No, it's that cat!" he shrieked in realisation, before Oona, Helen and Ryan burst out laughing.

Meanwhile, over at Angeliques, Phil was sitting at one of the tables on her own with a candle lit, looking downhearted. "Do you think we should say something?" Lola asked Belle from the lobby. "I think you should, yeah!" Belle retorted. Lola looked at Belle and was about to start walking over when Carl rushed straight past them and ran into the seat opposite Phil. Belle and Lola looked at each other in amazement, before Betty walked up behind them with her arms folded and a glint in her eye. "Did you have anything to do with this?" Belle asked Betty. "Let's just say he probably won't be having any more trips to the casino again in a hurry!" she replied, looking over at Carl and Phil together and smiling to herself.
