PREVIOUSLY ON CROSSROADS:

Honey found out all the Samson's secrets, slept with Max Samson and
Jimmy but is shocked when Ethan tells her she has to kill Jimmy who
she has got close to.

Joe's mother Sylvia arrived in Kings Oak to help him and Cleo find
Jenny.

`Sable' got cat-napped by Angel Samson but she later went missing.

It is morning in the Samson's apartment. Ryan, Cleo and Betty are
sitting around the breakfast table. Jimmy comes out of his bedroom
fully dressed.
"Morning everyone."
"Good morning Jimmy." Says Betty. "How are you today?"
"I'm ok. We got any headache tablets?"
"Why are you ill?"
"A bit".
"Well that's what happens when you stay up all night partying little
brother". Ryan laughs.
"Yeah you better be careful Jimmy, you'll get yourself a reputation!"
teases Cleo. "You're not a teenager anymore you know."
"He never did that when he was" says Ryan. "He only ever stayed up
doing homework."
"I went out for a couple of drinks last nights, that's all...."
"Well I don't want to get involved" says Betty "But when I went to
get a glass of water late last night I heard you stumbling about
trying to get the key in the lock."
"What time was that?" Cleo asks
"About four thirty"
Ryan and Cleo laugh and Jimmy smiles bashfully. "So I'm not allowed
to go out and enjoy myself once in a while then?"
"Well just as long as you work at the hotel doesn't start to suffer
little brother." Ryan mocks "Anyway, I'm more interested in who you
where enjoying yourself with!"
"What do you mean?"
"It wasn't that bit of lush at reception was it?"
"Ryan!" Cleo calls out half-disapprovingly.
"What?! I admit she's a bit old, but there's something about the
older women isn't there. These two seem to be quite the item these
days that's all."
Jimmy smiles, pleased at the attention. "Yeah, well me and Honey did
go out..."
"I knew it!" says Ryan triumphantly. "Good work Jimmy. A bit of an
improvement on your last woman as well. This one doesn't have any
shady ulterior motives does she? "
"Ryan!" Betty remarks. "Very tactile of you I must say."
"Well it's no secret that my little brother doesn't really have much
luck with ladies. He's too shy you see, let's them walk all over him."
"Look me and Honey aren't really that serious at the moment. But I
think I can safely say that she doesn't have any ulterior motives,
she's one of the most genuine women I've ever met. Er, present
company accepted of course.
Betty and Cleo smile as does Ryan, smiling a little uncomfortably-
perhaps representing some jealousy.
Cleo's mobile phone starts ringing.
"Hello?" she asks.
"Right well I better be going." Says Jimmy, "I'm a bit late as it is."
Ryan tuts mockingly as Jimmy makes his way out of the door and Ryan
helps himself to another piece of bacon.
Cleo comes of the phone looking a bit annoyed.
"Everything alright dear?" Betty asks.
"Not really. Sylvia's gone. And she's not coming back for a while
apparently. This is all we need."

Honey meanwhile has just woken up in her room from a long slumber.
She is looking worse for wear as she climbs out of bed. And dials a
number on her phone.
"Hello Ethan?" she says into the handset, a little uncomfortably.
There is a pause, then:
"We need to talk." Pause. "Yeah? Well soon then."

Downstairs at reception Virginia puts the phone down frustratedly.
"Her phones engaged."
Max looks stern. "Right, well keep on trying and tell her that if she
isn't down in five minutes she better pack her bags."
"Certainly Mr Samson." Virginia says smugly. "And might I add that
this isn't the first time she's been later for work since she started
here."
"Yeah well that's the least of her worries" mutters Max under his
breath, distracted suddenly by the arrival of Jimmy in receptionist.
"And here's someone else who could deserve a few lessons in
timekeeping. Where were you this morning?"
"This morning?"
"We got a call from Price Fashions."
Jimmy looks blank.
"Y'know, the company that's supposed to be organising this show next
week. You were supposed to be sorting out some last minute details.
"Oh yeah. Oh I forgot. I'll ring them now."
"Kate's already sorted it. Thankfully not every member of staff is as
slack as you and Miss Raymond."
"I'm sorry dad."
"Leave it Jimmy. Let's just say she's not worth losing your job over,
among other things."
"Who are you talking about?" says Jimmy, playing dumb.
Virginia looks up from her paperwork interestedly.
"You know who I mean" mutters Max, walking off.
Jimmy thinks to himself for a second.
"Where's Honey?" he asks Virginia.
"Late as usual!" Virginia begins. I've been trying to call her but...."
Her words become meaningless as Jimmy has left reception, making his
way upstairs.

Honey is still on the phone to Ethan.
"Right then, I'll meet you there and then".
There's a knock on the door.
"I've got to go." She says quickly, putting the phone down. She goes
to answer the door to meet a smiling Jimmy who greets her.
"Jimmy. What are you doing here?"
"What do you think?" he tries to kiss her cheek but she flinches and
he backs off. He smiles at her in her dressing gown. "Shouldn't you
be thinking about getting to work? Virginia and dad are going mad
down there. I know we had a heavy night last night but that's really
no excuse Miss Raymond" he smiles jokingly but she doesn't
reciprocate.
"I'm not very well." She says. "I was going to ring down in a minute."
"Rubbish!" laughs Jimmy. "You've just got a hangover that's all. I'm
the same! Definitely worth it though."
"Jimmy..." Honey begins.
Suddenly Jimmy looks serious "What's wrong?"
"Last night was ok. But it was strictly a one off, understand? Me and
you.....we're not the same people."
Jimmy starts smiling again. "Tell me something I don't know. Listen,
I know we're different but that's what makes us so great. Opposites
attract and all that?"
"Not in this case I'm afraid."
Jimmy looks disappointed. "So that's it then? A few drunken nights
out and that's it."
"I'm sorry Jimmy." Honey says sincerely "I obviously was never taking
this as seriously as you where. I'm not here for all this; I've got a
job to do. You know that."
Jimmy starts to get a bit frustrated. "Honey we get on well; are you
seriously telling me that working in this poxy hotel is more
important than having a good time and enjoying yourself."
Honey looks deadly serious as she says "My job is everything to me. I
cant let *anything* get in the way of that."
Jimmy is lost for words as he backs away.
"Wait where are you going?"
"Why do you care?"
Cut to Honey looking sad. She does her best to shrug it off as she
goes back into her hotel room.

Betty is walking past reception and greets Oona as she arrives.
"Where is she?" Oona demands.
"Who are you talking about?"
"Don't give me that, I'm having it out with your "Lady" Samson. I've
given her some time and I promise you, if she doesn't give my cat
back now I'm calling the ruddy RAC."
"Don't you mean the RSPCA?"
"Oh don't you try and act clever with me Betty *Wadle*. You're
exactly the same as those Samsons, thick as thieves the lot of you."
Oona is shouting and attracting the attention of a lot of people in
reception. "I've seen you do this to other people, trample all over
them like they're nothing. Look at poor Kate, shacked up in our pub.
Before you arrived she owned this bloody place. Well I'm telling you
something for nothing, Oona Stocks is nobodies doormat."
"Calm down now Oona!" Betty demands.
Virginia calls over smugly "Ladies, please can you take this outside."
Oona snaps back "You keep out of it you old bag".
"Well I ask you?!" Virginia exclaims.
"So where is Lady Muck then?" Oona demands. "And importantly, where
is my Sable."
"You mean Mittens?"
"I'll give you mittens in a minute."
"Oona, I don't know where the cat in question has gone. We were under
the impression you'd already snatched her back."
"What are you talking about Betty?"
"She's gone missing from the hotel."
"Oh ruddy great! Well I should have known that you Samsons couldn't
look after anything for five minutes. Look at the way her flipping
kids have turned out, trampling round everywhere like they own the
place."

Jimmy is in the office on the phone. "Yes thank you. Tell Mr Price we
will see him next week." He puts the phone down.
Ryan comes in to the office. "Busy at work brother?"
"Just sorting out this fashion show for next week."
"Ah yes, the fashion show. Tell me, they're not on the look out for
any models are they?"
"Oh you think you're what they're looking for do you?" Jimmy
mocks. "I think they're probably better off with the professionals
Ryan."
"Ah well their loss." Ryan shrugs. "I'll be too busy with the female
models anyway."
Jimmy shakes his head disbelievingly.
"No need to look like that Jimmy. You may have Honey but when it
comes to 20-something supermodels she's got nothing on them."
"I don't think I've `got Honey' anywhere. She's finished with me."
Ryan laughs. "Ha, good going brother. Still I suppose you should be
grateful this one didn't try and take mum's jewellery with her."

Honey gets out of a taxi; she has arrived at an old farmhouse. As she
gets out she smiles at the driver "Cheers mate."
"You sure this is the right place?"
"Yeah. Looks empty and deserted enough don't it?" she laughs "Wait
around the corner will you mate. I won't be a minute".
Honey looks around suspiciously making her way towards an old barn.

"I'm warning you" says Betty strictly, "You can calm down or get out
Oona."
"And you're a fine one to talk about bringing up children Oona
Stocks" Virginia calls from reception; "Look at your Mandy, I mean I
don't like to speak ill of the dead but..."
"You keep my Mandy out of this" demands Oona storming over to
reception. Betty tries to grab her and the two struggle. Virginia
looks on snootily.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?" calls out Max angrily. All three
woman stop.
"Oh the King himself" retorts Oona sarcastically. "Well maybe you can
give me some answers. You've got my cat and I want her back."
"Your cat?"
Betty sighs. "Oona is under the impression that `Mittens' is actually
her cat who Angel stole from her."
Max just stares angrily with disbelief. "I don't have time for this.
Me and my wife have got more important things to worry about than
your pathetic life and your pathetic animal. GET OUT!" Oona tries to
argue back but is cut short by Max as he marches her away. Virginia
and Betty watch with amazement.
"What's going on here" asks Ryan amazed and amused.

Honey gets a start suddenly as Ethan turns out to be the other side
of the barn door.
"Hello Honey."
"Hi" says Honey uncomfortably.
"How's it going? Jimmy dead yet?"
Honey shakes her head fustratedly. "How can you be so heartless?"
"I've told you before; when it comes to the Samson's I don't take any
prisoners. You where supposed to have dealt with them."
"Well I'm telling you now Ethan, if it was a hit woman you where
after you hired the wrong woman. I don't *do* that sort of thing."
Ethan smiled "What's the matter Honey? Got a conscience all of a
sudden?"
"I may be many things, but I'm not a killer. I don't mind lying and
cheating for you but if you think I'm going to sit back and let me
take the rap for *your* murder, you're wrong mate."

Oona has just left the hotel and Betty is smartening herself up in
the lobby. Lola runs in. "Betty!"
"Lola! Whatever's the matter?"
"It's that cat."
"You've found it?"
"Well....yeah, I guess."
Betty sighs with relief; "Oh thanks goodness, at last this whole
pathetic business can draw to a close."
"Well I wouldn't say that exactly."
Betty looks concerned. The two run off as Max makes his way back into
the hotel.
"She won't be coming back" he says seriously.
"Good job too, I say" smiles Virginia. "Oh and talking of waste of
spaces, there's someone else around here who deserves to be forcibly
removed from your hotel."
"Who?"
"Honey Raymond. She's still not turned up Mr Samson. Listen, I know
she's er.....a friend of the family as such but this really isn't good
enough. She's two hours late now."
"Well you know what Jimmy's like" jokes Ryan, "she probably can't
face life again and after spending a night with him. She's already
finished with him."
"She's what?" Max asks suspicious.
"Dumped him this morning apparently. One night was enough. At least
this one didn't marry him beforehand."

Lola and Betty arrive in the kitchen.
"I tried to get Vince but I couldn't find him anywhere..."
"Lola, it's only a cat! All this fuss about it is quite ridiculous.
Angel really has excelled herself this time."
"Well I don't think this is going to be the end of it Betty."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we closed up early last night, it must have somehow wandered
in before we locked up; got into the freezers somehow."
"Freezers?! Oh Lola, you're not possibly suggesting that Mittens...."
"I'm afraid that's it Iced-Mittens now Betty"she says as she signals
to the now frozen solid cat in the corner. Betty looks on in disgust
and horror.
"What am I going to tell Oona and Angel?"

Max is knocking on the door to Honey's empty hotel room. When he gets
no reply he opens up staring with astonishment at the empty room.

Ethan looks a little confused. "So what are you saying Honey? You're
job's over, is that it?"
Honey replies quietly "If that's what you're asking me to do; well
then yeah. I've already left the hotel."
"You've done what?"
Honey shrugs, "Packed my bags this morning and got out of there as
soon as I could."
"You stupid woman...."
But Honey just shakes her head. "Sorry Ethan, you pushed me one step
too far this time. Those Samsons are liars, cheats and murderers the
lot of them but don't try and kid yourself that you're any better."
As she walks away Ethan grabs her suddenly, taking her by surprise.
He pushes her against the barn wall and she looks tense.
"You stupid cow, you honestly think I believe you would murder him in
the cold light of day? I knew you would get sucked in, sucked in to
their petty little world. This was a test to see where you're
loyalties lay. And you failed it. You're going to regret that for the
rest of your life."
He laughs
"However long that may be."
