Previously on Crossroads:
- Ethan threatened to kill Honey's daughter Nicola if she didn't kill Jimmy. - Cleo told Joe to ring Sylvia and ask her to come back to help them find Jenny. - Kelly Staton, Jonathan's PA, arrived at the hotel to ensure everything was ready for the fashion show, only to find Mittens frozen in the kitchen. - Cameron asked Scott if he fancied him. - Vince brought the frozen Mittens to Angel, who demanded that all of the kitchen staff be sacked.
It was a busy morning in the hotel. Virginia and Honey were frantically trying to check in guests who were arriving for the fashion show on Monday. "Well at least you're here on time today!" Virginia muttered to Honey as she passed a guest her key card. "Oh, give it a rest will you!" Honey replied, rolling her eyes "Things are bad enough as it is without you making things worse!". Just then a tall man in a smart suit walked up to reception. "Hello, I'm Jonathan Price. You must be Virginia!" he said, taking Virginia's hand and kissing it. "Oh, pleased to meet her Mr. Price!" Virginia gushed. Honey nearly burst out laughing. "And you are?" Jonathan said, taking Honey's hand. "Miss Raymond" she replied dryly. "Pleased to meet you Miss Raymond" Jonathan said, kissing her hand. Just then Honey spotted Jimmy walking up to the reception. "Jimmy!" she said in anticipation. But Jimmy blanked her and went up to Jonathan "Good morning Mr. Price. I'm Jimmy Samson, the Promotions Manager" he said, shaking his hand. "Ah, part of the Samson dynasty I see!" Jonathan replied "I'm looking forward to seeing your mother again!". "You've met her before?" Jimmy asked, confused. "Oh yes, we went to school together!" Jonathan smiled. "Then you'll know Kate Russell as well!" Jimmy replied "She's our General Manager". Jonathan suddenly froze. "Kate!" he said in shock "She's here?". "Well, yes!" Jimmy said, looking back "That's her over there!". Kate walked up to reception but froze when she saw Jonathan. Virginia looked up at the two former lovers and teased "Old flames are you?". "Something like that!" Kate smiled. "Jonathan, it's been a long time!" she said, walking up to Jonathan and shaking his hand. He took her hand and kissed it. "Kate, if I'd only known you were here I'd have come to see you long before now!". Kate, looking slightly embarrassed, asked "Shall we go to the bar?". "What a marvellous idea!" Jonathan replied, walking with her to the bar while Jimmy stood feeling slightly awkward with his folders under his arm. "But Mr. Price...". "Later!" Jonathan shouted back. "Err... I think I'll take my break now!" Honey said, uncomfortable with Jimmy's presence. "You will do no such thing!" Virginia snapped "Look how busy we are!". But Honey was already on her way to the staff room. Jimmy looked after her with a sorrowful expression, before heading off to continue preparations for the fashion show.
Upstairs, Betty was walking down the corridor with a box in her hands when she came to the door of the Samson apartment and opened it gently, peeking through to make sure no-one was there. Then she walked in and put the box on the table, opening it to let a small black kitten out, identical to Mittens. It curled up on the table and Betty smiled. "Right, well that's that sorted!" she said to herself, just as Angel opened the door to her room. "Betty!" she said, blowing her nose "I didn't know you were... what on earth is that?" she snapped, looking at the kitten. "It's Mittens!" Betty replied, quickly hiding the box behind her. "I found her outside, she'd sneaked away!". Angel was furious. "Oh, really?" she shouted "Well how do you explain this?" she said, pointing to a black bag on the floor. Betty walked over to the bag and opened it to see the deceased Mittens lying inside. "Oh, dear!" she murmured to herself.
Meanwhile, back at reception, Virginia was struggling to manage on her own when a scruffy-looking teenager walked through the doors. "Danny Morris!" he said to Virginia in a Cockney accent, sniffing and shaking her hand roughly. Virginia looked down her nose at him. "And how may I help you?" she said in a disapproving tone. "I'm starting in the kitchen today!" Danny replied. "I see!" she said, before calling over to the bar "Mrs. Russell! Mrs. Russell!". Kate, who was sitting there laughing with Jonathan, looked back at Virginia and patted his hand before walking up to the reception. "Can you show Mr. Morris to the kitchen?" Virginia asked "He's starting there today!". "Okay, come with we!" Kate smiled, as she led Danny to the kitchen, passing Scott who was on his way to school. As he walked out of the entrance, Cameron was stood there waiting for him. Scott walked straight past him, but Cameron caught him up. "So why did you run away yesterday when I asked you if you fancied me?" Cameron asked, standing in Scott's way. "Just leave me alone!" Scott said, brushing past him. Cameron smirked and walked after him, teasing "You can run, but you can't hide from the fact that you're gay!". "I'm NOT gay!" Scott shouted back at him. "Then why did you kiss me? Go on, explain that!" Cameron said. Scott hesitated before turning around and walking off. Cameron laughed to himself and followed on.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen Vince was running about frantically trying to prepare meals and throwing insults at the staff in his usual fashion. "So how did Mrs. Samson take the news?" Lola asked him. "Oh, bad!" Vince replied "She told me to give all of you the sack, but I think I'd better let her cool down a bit before taking her advice, don't you?" he laughed "Now get back to work before you end up in the freezer as well!". Just then Kate walked in with Danny. "Vince, this is your new kitchen hand, Danny Morris!" she announced. "At last!" Vince exclaimed. "Now come here, you can get to work on these straightaway!" he continued, dragging Danny next to Lola, who looked more than pleased with the new recruit. "Alright Danny, I'm Lola!" she said, shaking his hand. A huge grin appeared on his face. "Nice to meet you!" he replied. "Here, you fancy a drink tonight at the pub? They've got karaoke and everything!" Lola suggested. "Okay, it's a date!" he smiled, as the two of them got to work.
Back at reception, Angel walked over to the desk where Kelly Staton was waiting to be served. "I hope you're not always this understaffed!" Kelly retorted. "I do apologise!" Angel replied "I shall be having words with the reception staff!". Just then Honey came storming from the staff room with Virginia shouting behind her "I've been covering this reception for two hours while you lounge about in the staff roo... Oh, Mrs. Samson! Miss Staton! I am sorry, we've been... dealing with a guest!". "In the staff room?" Angel replied sarcastically "Deal with Miss Staton will you?" she continued, before heading to the kitchen. "Yes, of course Mrs. Samson!" Virginia replied as she and Honey rushed behind the desk. "Has Mr. Price arrived yet?" Kelly asked. "Well yes, but he's been over at the bar with Mrs. Russell all day!" Virginia replied "He was supposed to be having a meeting with our Promotions Manager". "Typical Jonathan!" Kelly laughed. "He's always had an eye for the ladies!" she added, before heading over to the bar. "Jonathan, the Promotions Manager is waiting to speak to you!" she said as she approached the bar. "I said later!" Jonathan replied, not even looking at Kelly. "But Jonathan! The fashion show's on Monday!" Kelly said anxiously. "Kelly, please!" Jonathan snapped, before turning to Kate. Kelly looked jealous and stormed out of the bar, bumping in Jimmy who had been standing there waiting to speak to Jonathan. He dropped all of his folders and caught the attention of Honey, who looked at him from the reception. He caught her eye as he stood up, but quickly looked away and walked off. Honey hung her head down, disappointed.
Outside the Cat In The Moon, Betty was having mixed thoughts about walking in. She had the new kitten in her hands. She bit her lip anxiously, before walking through the door. Inside, Oona was leaning on the bar looking upset while Dave and Helen were serving customers. Betty walked up to the bar and Oona's face lit up "It's Sable! She's come home!". She took the kitten from Betty hands as she tried to smile "Yes, Angel decided it wasn't right to keep the kitten away from her real home!". "Well, that's good to hear!" Dave smiled, while Oona twirled the kitten around in the air. Helen looked confused "That's funny because Vince said...". "Vince says a lot of things that might not necessarily be true!" Betty replied, winking at Helen. Helen suddenly realised what was going on and winked back.
Back at the hotel, Cleo and Ryan were just leaving for the Cat In The Moon when Joe came running after them "Cleo, wait!". "What is it Joe?" Cleo snapped. "I've got a surprise for you!" he smiled. "I'm not interested Joe!" she replied, turning around to find Sylvia standing at the entrance. "Sylvia! You're back! Thank you for coming!" Cleo said, rushing to hug her. "Don't thank me! Thank Joe! He's the one that called me!" Sylvia replied. Cleo looked amazed. "Is this true?" she asked Joe. "I had a change of heart. You were right, we need the extra help!" he replied. "Well that's great! Sylvia, you'll come to the pub with us, won't you?" Cleo asked Sylvia. "Yes, of course! Are you coming Joe?" she asked, to which Joe hesitated. "Okay!" he replied, taking Cleo's arm and walking alongside Sylvia as they made their way to the Cat In The Moon.
In the pub, Helen was getting the stage ready when Tracey rushed up to her "Guess what? I've signed us both up for the dating agency! Who knows? This time next week we could both be loved up!". "That's great news!" Helen grinned "Come on, I'll get you a drink on the house!". They made their way to the bar, passing Wanda who was sitting down with Phil, Carl, Lola, Danny and Belle. "I can't believe I've got away with staying at the hotel this long!" laughed Wanda. "Well Mrs. Samson's been more worried about her flamin' cat than anything else over the last few days!" Lola laughed, before snogging Danny. "I feel so left out!" Belle sighed. "What are you talking about, love?" Wanda said, slugging her drink. "Well Phil's got a boyfriend, Lola's got a boyfriend and I'm stuck here on my own!" Belle replied sadly "I mean, I have Jimmy, but that's different!". "Aww, you've got me, love!" Wanda said, nudging her in the arm. "Yeah, thanks!" Belle replied, rolling her eyes. Just then, Phil, Carl, Lola and Danny took to the stage to a rapturous applause, taking turns to sing Kylie and Jason's "Especially For You". Kate and Jonathan looked on from in front of the stage, gazing into each others eyes and kissing passionately. Rio, who was sitting with Virginia and Helen, looked over to Scott, who was sitting with Tracey, and sighed to herself. Cleo and Joe put their arms around each other, having made up after yesterday's argument, while Jimmy looked over at Honey, who was sitting alone, before looking down at the floor sadly. "Go on, make it up with her!" Cleo shouted over the singing "You know you want to!". "Yeah, go on bro'!" Ryan added "Put us out of our misery!". Jimmy looked at Cleo and Joe together and got up from his seat. He walked over to Honey and sat beside her. She looked up and burst into tears. The two embraced as Phil, Carl, Lola and Danny finished their performance and the crowd applauded.
Back at the hotel, Angel was sitting in her office crying over Mittens when Betty burst through the door. Angel quickly dried her eyes before shouting "Can't you knock woman?". "I'm sorry Angel, but I really think you ought to come outside!" Betty said with a worried face. Angel sighed before getting up from her seat and walking to the door. Suddenly she froze. An old, frail woman looked over from reception "Angela, darling!". Angel's face was aghast "Mother!".
