Previously on Crossroads:

- Scott and Cameron worried about what Rio would do with her pictures of them kissing.
- Jake arrived at the hotel and was shocked when Virginia mentioned Scott "coming out".
- Ethan told Sister Grace to kill Max otherwise she'd be joining Honey and Nicky in captivity.
- Jake almost caught Scott and Cameron in a compromising situation.

"Scott! It's good to see you again!" Jake said cautiously. Scott eased away from Cameron and walked over to his father "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in New York?". "Your Mum called me. She's worried about you!" Jake replied looking over at Cameron "So who's this?". Scott looked uncomfortably back at Cameron who was still sitting nervously at the fountain "Dad, this is Cameron. Cameron, Dad". Cameron walked over and shook Jake's hand before quickly standing behind Scott. The tension could be cut with a knife. "Okay, well I'm just gonna go and have a word with your Mum. I'll see you later Scott!" Jake said before walking off and breathing a sigh of relief. Scott looked over at Cameron with fear in his eyes "I think we'd better go!".

Inside, Virginia watched from reception as Jake made his way up to the bar to speak to Tracey. "You don't think I put my foot in it, do you Helen?" she asked anxiously. "You Mum? Never!" Helen laughed as Vince arrived from the kitchen and the pair headed off to the Cat In The Moon. Betty came out of her office and watched Virginia staring at Jake. "Who are you gawping at?" she asked sarcastically. "Oh, that's Kate's son, Jake! He was Vic's son!" Virginia gossiped. "Ah, yes!" Betty replied "I've heard a lot about him! What's he doing here anyway? Didn't he take over Vic's business in America when he died?". "Oh, don't you know?" Virginia said "Scott's come out! That's why Tracey called Jake over!". "You mean he's gay?" Betty asked with shock "Oh, the poor love! It must have been ever so hard for him to come out to his parents!". "Well don't expect any sympathy from me!" Virginia sneered "He's the reason Rio's gone back to America!". "Really?" Betty asked. "Well, I hope she finds someone over there that will make her happy!" she smiled before heading back into her office. "I'm sure you do!" Virginia muttered to herself. Just then Jimmy and Ryan walked in and saw Chloe walk over from the staff room and join Virginia behind reception. "Where's Honey today?" Jimmy asked Ryan. "Oh, didn't your father tell you?" Virginia quipped "Honey left yesterday!". "Left? You mean left for good?" Jimmy asked in panic "I believe so! She took her suitcase!" Virginia replied mischievously. "No!" Jimmy shouted before running upstairs to his room. "Jimmy, wait!" Ryan shouted before running after him. "Thanks a lot Virginia!" he shouted back. "What did I do?" Virginia said in surprise.

"Enough of the formalities Tracey, what's all this about Scott being gay?" Jake asked. Tracey pouted from behind the bar "Who said he was? I just think he's a bit lonely, especially now that Rio's left. He could do with having you around a bit more!". "Well if he's not gay, how come Virginia said something about him coming out?" Jake snapped. Tracey was aghast "Virginia said what?".

Sister Grace made her way up the road towards the hotel. She was shaking as she clutched her handbag. Suddenly she hid behind a hedge as a car drove past and pulled up outside the hotel. Out stepped Patty with a load of shopping bags, followed by Angel who was greeted at the entrance by Max. "How was the shopping spree?" he grinned. "Oh, it kept Mother happy!" Angel laughed as Patty rushed through the automatic doors and made her way up the stairs. "Thank goodness that girl has gone Max! Perhaps now we can get back to some sort of normality!" Angel smiled as she took Max's arm. "Normality? With your mother around?" Max retorted. The two of them laughed as they walked together through the automatic doors into the hotel. Sister Grace was watching all of this from behind the hedge. She looked down at the ground in sorrow. "Angel is so happy with Max, I can't spoil that!" she said to herself before turning around and heading off home.

Inside the hotel, Kate was just stepping out of Angel's office when she saw her walking through the lobby with Max. Just then Jonathan came out of the lift and headed towards Kate. "Kate, darling!" he exclaimed kissing her on the cheek. Angel looked over uncomfortably at Kate and Jonathan together as she and Max made their way up the stairs. "Hang on!" Angel said before kissing Max passionately for everyone to see. "That's better!" she smiled as they continued up the stairs. Kate looked sadly over Jonathan's shoulder as Max disappeared out of sight before she was rudely interrupted by a furious Tracey making her way to reception. "How dare you!" she shouted as she approached Virginia. "Excuse me?" Virginia remarked as Betty eagerly made her way to the door of her office to see what was going on. "Standing behind there all the time, shooting your mouth off about things you know nothing about!" Tracey shouted. Jake walked up behind Tracey "Calm down Tracey, you're making a scene!". "If this is about Scott, it's nothing everyone didn't know already!" Virginia retorted. "That's it!" Tracey screamed as she rushed forward to slap Virginia. Jake grabbed Tracey's arms and pulled them behind her back "Stop it Tracey, you're making an exhibition of yourself as always!". "I think you'd better listen to your husband... Sorry, ex-husband!" Virginia sneered while Chloe covered her mouth to stop herself from bursting out laughing. "My Scotty isn't gay!" Tracey wailed before bursting into tears. Jake puller her away, just as Scott and Cameron walked through the automatic doors. Everyone stared at them. Betty took Scott aside and whispered to her "You're so brave Scott! It must have been so hard for you to come out!". A look of anger appeared on Scott's face. "I'm not gay!" he shouted before running up the stairs. Cameron stood there awkwardly as everyone stared at him. He quickly turned around and ran back out of the hotel, almost bumping into Carl and Phil on the way. Betty smiled as she saw them "How did the counselling go?". "Oh, it went really well!" Phil replied stroking Carl's arm "He's gone so far already! Thanks for all your support Betty, it means a lot!". "Yeah!" Carl agreed "I couldn't have done this if it weren't for you!". Betty blushed "It was nothing!". Just then Jimmy came running down the stairs, followed by Max. "Jimmy, come back here!" Max demanded but Jimmy shouted back in tears "How could you Dad? She meant the world to me!". "She had to go!" Max protested "Now get over it!". "No!" Jimmy shouted "I'm going to find her and I'm going to bring her back!". "Yeah, you do that Jimmy!" Max laughed as he made his way back up the stairs, while Jimmy ran into his car and sped off down the driveway. "It's all going on in here, isn't it?" Chloe remarked from behind reception, while Carl, Phil and Betty laughed.

Angel and Patty were in the Samson apartment sorting out their shopping when the phone rang. Angel ran to answer it just as Max re-entered the apartment. Angel sadly put down the phone and walked over to Max to hug him. "What's the matter?" he asked. "That was Sister Grace. She's leaving King's Oak. She wouldn't tell me why but she said she had no other option!" Angel replied sorrowfully.

Sister Grace was sitting in her armchair in tears when the sound of a car horn could be heard outside. She picked up her suitcases, took one final look at her living room and stepped outside, clanging the door shut behind her. The driver put the cases into the boot of the taxi while Sister Grace sat down in the back seat looking over at her beloved cottage. "This way Ethan can never find me!" she said to herself, as the driver got in the car and they drove off down the road. Sister Grace looked back through the windscreen in tears as her home disappeared out of sight.
