"Previously on Crossroads"
-Wanda returned to Crossroads but quickly upset Belle with her dark
humorous remarks.
-Betty, Patty & Belle were told of Jimmy's death.
-Max asked Kate to organise Jimmy's funeral but this made Angel even
worse and she took a pair of scissors to the family photo album.
-Virginia finally declared her love for Rocky.

Down in the Staff Quarters Cleo and Joe were lying together on his
bed.
"I should go and see how mum is. Jimmy's death has really shaken
her" Cleo commented.
"I'll come with you if you want" Joe replied.
"Thanks I think I'll need someone with me. If she has another go at
dad though I'm walking out, Joe. I'm not going to stand there and
let her accuse dad of all sorts." Cleo said with some strength.
"She's grieving, Cleo, she's hurting and she wants to hit out at
something. Angel see's your father as a way to hit out. I was like
that when my father died."
"Yeah but that was different. Dad had actually done something then
this time he's done nothing. She just wants everyone to pay her
attention that's all"

Angel went over to the waste paper bin carrying snippets of the
photographs and dropped them in. All of them were of Max, in various
locations and in various poses. She looked down and then picked up a
matchbox and lit a match. Angel dropped the match into the bed and
watched as the photographs burned. When the fire died out she went
over to the door and left the apartment. She made her way through
the corridor and then down her grand stairs. She noted that Virginia
was no longer on duty and instead Chloe was. This didn't bother her
because Chloe wouldn't comment on what happened earlier. Angel then
made her way to the reception desk.
"Is Kate still in the office?"
"I think so" The receptionist replied.
Angel went over to the office and walked in. Kate looked up as the
door closed.
"Angel if you have come here to have another go"
"I haven't. I've come here to apologise about earlier"
"Oh right" Kate said slightly shocked.
"I over reacted. I know you were only trying to help and I
appreciate it. In fact I'd like you to ignore my request that you
cancel it all"
"Well if you're sure Angel. I don't want you to feel I was trying to
take over your position"
"I'm quiet sure thank you Kate. If you'll tell me of all the
arrangements I'll get on to family and friends about it"

Wanda was in here room watching telly when there was a knock at the
door.
"Who is it" Wanda asked.
"Ms Jacobs it's the meal you asked for" Lola's voice replied. Wanda
smiled and got up and answered the door.
"'Ello love glad to see me?" Wanda asked smiling.
"Mum! What are you doing here?" Lola asked.
"I've come back to you ain't I? Come in then"
Lola walked inside with the meal as Wanda closed the door.
"If Angel catches you here she'll go ape. This isn't a good time"
"Oh I know all about Jimmy" Wanda replied. "Belle's upset about it"
"Well he was her half brother. Is that why you've come back?"
Wanda sat on the bed and Lola sat by her.
"Phil rang me about you, love. Said you were acting all weird."
"What!" Lola said angrily. "I'm fine there's nothing wrong."
"Well it don't look that way to me love, what's wrong `ey"
"There's nothing wrong. I'm fine I just wish everyone would stop
interfering with my live. I've got to get back to work," Lola said
getting up and walking out. Wanda watched, with surprise, as Lola
slammed the door.
"For once Phil was right. Blimey there's something wrong there"
Wanda commented.

Angel was back in her apartment on the phone when Cleo and Joe
entered.
"I'll see you there then" Angel said putting the phone down. Cleo
looked around and then could smell the not-long-dead fire.
"Cleo darling you've come back at last. Where's Ryan?"
"I've come to make sure you're okay. What's that smell?"
"Oh I had a little clear out. Got rid of some paper work"
"Mum that doesn't smell like paper." Cleo went over to the bin and
looked down. "You've been burning photographs," Cleo said angrily.
She picked up an album from the sideboard and opened the first page.
She was horrified to see Max had been cut out from the
photo. "You've cut dad out of all the photographs!"
"You're father has caused nothing but pain for all of us. He drove
Jimmy away once and now he's dead because of Max. I can see it so I
don't know why you can't!"
"I can't see it because it's not true"
"Then who did kill Jimmy and why?"
"I'm not going to listen to this." Cleo headed towards the door.
"Cleo wait" Angel called after her. "I haven't told you about the
funeral arrangements"
"Fine tell me then I'll go"
"Calm down Cleo" Joe said trying to calm things down.
"Joe! She's cut all the photos apart and still saying dead is
responsibly for his death! How do you think he's feeling now Mum?
He's just lost his son and you're saying it's his fault"
Angel poured her self another drink. "Perhaps it is. Don't be so
foolish Cleo."
"That's it. You can tell Joe the arrangements I'm going" Cleo
stormed out of the apartment.

Patty entered the hospital ward and made her way over to the Nurse's
station.
"I'm here to see Sister Grace" Patty said to the Male Nurse.
"I'll take you to see her. We've moved her to a side ward"
Patty followed the Male nurse through the peaceful ward.
"How is she?"
"There's been no change as yet but that can change. We're still
having trouble contacting her sister"
"I'm afraid I can't help with that. When Angel comes in she might be
able to"
The Male Nurse and Patty left the ward and came to a corridor. He
turned left and opened the door.
"If anything happens just call for us" He said as Patty stepped
inside and sat beside Sister Grace's bed. The door closed and Patty
looked at the woman.

In the Cat in the Moon Helen and Ryan were talking at one of the
tables.
"How are you?" Helen asked with concern.
"Not too bad. Better than mum at any rate" Ryan replied.
"People deal with grief in different ways"
"I just can't get used to the fact that I'll never see him again.
He's dead and he's not coming back," Ryan said with sorrow.
"You still have memories of him and they will never go away."
"But I want him to be here, Helen. I want to be able to walk back
into that apartment and see him" Ryan started to cry. "And I can't
because he's dead" Helen came round to the other side of the table
and hugged him as he continued to cry.
"It's okay" Helen said.
Over at the bar Dave and Oona looked on with sadness.
"I can remember when out Mandy died" Oona said. "That poor family"
She added.
"Who would want to kill a harmless lad like Jimmy?" Dave replied.
"That's what the world is coming to Dave."

Kate walked down a corridor, in the hotel, and came to a room. She
knocked on the door it quickly opened.
"Kate!" Max said with slight surprise. "Come in"
He led Kate into his room. "Do you want a drink?"
"No thanks Max. I've come about…the funeral"
Max sat on the bed and Kate sat beside him. "I've arranged it all
like you said. I thought I should tell you and Angel the
arrangements separately"
"Good idea knowing the mood Angel is in at the moment I wouldn't be
surprised if she didn't tell me"
"It's on Friday at St Peters church" Kate replied.
Max looked at her and then started to cry. Kate comforted Max as he
broke down in a flood of tears.

Betty was sitting at a table in the Cat in the Moon. She watched as
Helen comforted Ryan. She had a tear in her eye but quickly wiped it
away when Rocky walked in the door.
"Thanks for this Betty" Rocky said as he sat down.
"That's okay Rocky. What can I do for you?"
"Well I need to talk to someone really"
"Oh okay. Well I'm here"
"It's about Virginia"
Betty rolled her eyes and didn't look to pleased about the topic of
conversation. "Oh yes" She said with a little less energy. "What
about her?"
"Well she's been acting really weird all week. Then earlier she told
me she loved me"
"Well what's wrong with that Rocky? That's what you want isn't it?"
"Well that's it Betty. I'm not sure. I thought I did but now I don't
know"
"Rocky you've been after Virginia for the past two years. Of course
you want this."
"What if she doesn't mean it?
"Virginia very rarely says things she doesn't mean. Rocky take this
chance while you can"
"Perhaps you're right Betty. Do you want a drink?"
"I'll have a gin and tonic thank you Rocky."
Rocky got up and walked over to the bar. Betty rolled her eyes at
him as he left.

DS Jenson was sitting at her desk when middle-aged man walked into
the CID room.
"DS Jenson back from London" The man said.
"Yes thanks guv" She replied.
"There's been some developments in the shooting case while you've
been in London"
"Oh"
"Sister Grace is still in a coma but Jimmy Samson is dead"
"How did he die?"
"He died from a relapse" The DI replied. "Obviously this is now a
murder case."
"Well I'd still like to investigate Guv if that's okay with you?"
"Very well but tread carefully. Emotions are likely to be high at
the moment"

Sylvia Roberts was sitting in her living room when she heard the
paper come from the front door. She got up and walked out of the
living room and into the hall. She picked it up and walked back into
the living room. She sat down to read the Heathbury Gazette. Sylvia
was shocked to read the front-page story.
"Shootings in Kings Oak claims one and puts another in a coma"
Sylvia read on to find that it was Jimmy Samson who had been killed
and Sister Grace who had been shot.

Break

It was early Friday morning at the stables. A man crept across the
courtyard and over to the horse's stables. He walked up the line of
the stables reading each name but stopped when he came to one that
read "Golden Ticket". He opened the door and stepped inside. A few
seconds later a horse could be heard and then the man stepped back
out and closed the door. He walked to the next one and repeated the
procedure. He smiled and then headed back towards his parked car.

Ethan Black walked through his mansion carrying a paper. He came to
a door and turned the key in the lock. He walked inside and smiled
at the tied up Honey and Nicky.
"Settling back in are we?" Ethan said smiling. "Only this time there
really will be no chance of escape"
"Why?" Honey asked worriedly.
"Because poor, sweet, innocent little Jimmy is dead"
"I don't believe you" Honey replied
Ethan threw down the paper for the two women to read.
"Very tragic" Ethan said laughing.
"You did it" Honey shouted. "You killed Jimmy"
"Of course I did. You couldn't do the job so I had to. And that is
only the start."
"He never hurt you!" Nicky shouted.
"Wrong he betrayed me just like Max did. The Samson's are all the
same."
"And what about you Ethan? What are you?" Honey said.
"What?" Ethan asked.
"You're no better than Max are you? You blackmail people, kidnap
children, shoot and kill innocent people. Max Samson and you are
alike"
Ethan walked over and smacked Honey around the face. "I'm nothing
like Max Samson"

Lady Alice Fox walked into Crossroads at over to the reception desk.
Standing around the reception desk dressed in black funeral clothes
were Virginia, Tracey and Scott. Chloe was actually at the reception
desk.
"Is Max Samson around?" She asked.
"Yes he's in his office" Chloe replied.
Lady Alice left the reception area heading for the office.
"I wonder what she wants," Virginia said.
"Perhaps she read the paper" Tracey replied.
"What paper?" Virginia said turning to Tracey.
"The Heathbury gazette they had an article about the shootings in
last nights paper"
Virginia turned back to Chloe. "Is there a copy of it behind the
desk?"
Chloe looked around and then picked up one. "Just one" Chloe said
handing it over to Virginia. Virginia read the headline and then
looked down the page. "Jimmy Samson, son of Angel and Max owners of
Crossroads Hotel, was shoot twice. He had been rushed to hospital
and had an operation to remove the bullets. However, he suffered a
relapse and died. Sister Grace, a close friend of the Samson's, is
still in a coma. Police have refused to comment on the murder case
and the shooting of Sister Grace" Virginia said quoting the paper.
Kate came out of her office and walked over to the reception desk.
Virginia quickly folded the paper and placed in on the desk.
"Lets go then" Kate said to the gathered few.
"The others are waiting outside Kate" Tracey said.

In his Office Max was busy getting ready when the door opened and
Lady Alice stepped in.
"Lady Alice!"
"Max I need to talk to you urgently"
"This isn't really a good time. I have to be at Jimmy's funeral"
"Yes I was sorry to read that but this is very important. It's about
the stables"
"The stables but I thought they were running fine"
"They were until last night. Someone attacked two of our best
horses. Golden Ticket and Grey Cow. Neither of them can run for a
long time"
"I don't see why this should bother me" Max said abruptly.
"Because whoever it was knew which horses to attack. This wasn't a
random attack"
"Ethan!" Max said.
"Ethan Black!" Lady Alice Fox said with some shock. "Why would he
attack the stables? Oh yes your petty feud"
"I'll talk this over with you later."
"Very well. I'll come back later"

Outside the Church Angel and Patty were dressed in black welcoming
the guests as they came. The last few entered the church and Patty
and Angel walked in. The church was full of mourners. Cleo, Ryan,
Joe and Helen sat at the front. Behind them were Betty, Belle, Lola,
Phil and Carl. Wanda sat with Danny while Lola was with Vince,
Tracey, Kate, Scott & Jake. Angel and Patty sat by Cleo and the
Vicar started the service.
"We are here today to say goodbye to Jimmy Samson. He was a bright,
happy and pleasant young man whose live was tragically cut short."
Belle, Betty, Cleo and Angel were crying as the Vicar continued with
his service. Then the door suddenly opened and Max walked in as
quietly as possibly. Angel turned round and her grief turned to
anger as she saw Max. She got up and walked down to Max.
"What are you doing here?" Angel shouted.
"It's my sons funeral Angel I have a right to be here"
"You have no right Max Samson. Get out now!"
Cleo came down to try and calm things down. "Mum he has a right to
be here"
"No Cleo he doesn't. I might have let Belle in here but there's no
way I will let him in" Angel said with anger.
"This is stupid Angel"
"Get out now! We wouldn't be having a funeral if it weren't for you"
Everyone was looking shocked at the argument. Kate decided to get up
and try to help.
"Angel come on sit down," Kate said.
"Shut up Kate" Angel snapped back.
"How do you work out this is my fault?" Max asked.
"Am I the only one who can see who bloody well shot Jimmy? Ethan
bloody Black!"
Patty looked shocked to hear the name, as did Kate.
"Ethan wouldn't kill Jimmy?" Kate replied.
"Of course he would no get out," Angel said hitting Max. "Get out!
Get out!" She was attacking Max and was beginning to cry.
Everyone looked shocked and Wanda turned to Lola.
"Who is Ethan Black?" She asked.
"I don't know" Lola replied.
"Get out" Angel cried again.

At the wake, held in the Crossroads bar, the funeral mourners were
eating and drinking. Max was sitting with Cleo and Joe while Angel
sat alone watching them. She was clearly drunk and very bitter.
Patty looked at everyone and decided to slip away. Angel looked at
Max and then decided to leave the wake. She got up and walked out of
Hotel.
Billy walked into the bar and headed for Kate.
"How did it go?" He asked.
"I didn't. I was a mess" She replied.
"How come"
"I don't want to go into it Billy" Kate said getting up and walking
out of the bar.
"Kate! What's wrong?" He called out after Kate.
He followed her out of the Hotel and round into the conservatory.
"Kate what's wrong?"
"Its nothing Billy" Kate said crying.
"Its hardly nothing"
"Its just the funeral. It brought back memories of Patrick"
"Oh" Billy said. He sat beside Kate and hugged her. They stopped
hugging and looked into each other's eyes and kissed. Kate pulled
away almost immediately and run off. Billy quickly followed.
Sylvia Roberts and Patty Maynard were in Ethan's lounge talking to
him.
"Did you kill Jimmy?" Patty asked with anger.
"And shoot the poor woman" Sylvia added.
"And what if I did? There's nothing you two can do about it"
"That's when you're wrong, Ethan. There's no way I'm going to stand
by and let you get away with killing poor Jimmy" Patty replied.
"But you wanted Max killed Patty. And Max killed Jenny"
"I don't care about that stupid little cow." Patty snapped back.
"That stupid little cow was my daughter" Sylvia angrily replied.
"Yes and she was working for Ethan too. She got everything she
deserved"
"And so will Max" Ethan shouted. The two women jumped. "Neither of
you will go to the Police otherwise I'll phone Angel and Joe and
tell them everything"
"Angel wouldn't believe and lying murderer like you"
"And neither would Joe"
"Are you willing to take the risk?"
"You can threaten us all you like Ethan but I'm not scared of you"
Patty replied. "You wouldn't dare harm us."
"Perhaps or perhaps not but I have my own little way of making you
work for me"
"What do you mean?" Sylvia said.
"All in good time. You'll find out when you stop working for me"

Angel walked in the Police Station and over to the front desk.
"My name is Angel Samson and I'd like to see DS Jenson," She said to
the FDO officer.
"I you'll take a seat I'll let her know"
A few seconds later DS Jenson came through the door to speak with
Angel.
"Mrs Samson how can I help you?"
"I have some information on my husband and Jimmy's murderer."
"What sort of information?"

Kate ran round the front of the Hotel and was surprised to see
Jonathan getting out of a cab.
"Jonathan!" Kate said shocked.
"Hello Kate" He replied walking over and hugging her.
Billy came around the corner and stopped as he saw Kate and Jonathan
hugging.

Ryan was sitting in Jimmy's room crying and drinking. He had a half
a bottle of brandy left and looked at it. Suddenly the room went
white and he saw Jimmy.
"I know what you are thinking" Jimmy said. "But you mustn't tell dad
about Honey and Nicky"
"What?" Ryan said shocked.
"If you tell dad about Honey and Nicky he'll charge in and they will
get killed"
"Then how else can we get them free?"
"Joe will help you. But be careful Ethan won't hesitate to kill them"
Suddenly Jimmy was gone and the room was empty. Ryan was still
crying and looked around to make sure Jimmy wasn't still in the
room. He then made his way down to speak with Joe.
