"What did he say?" Cameron's father replied to Scott's comments. "His boyfriend" Scott replied. "Cameron is this some kind of joke?" his mother asked. "Joke? You know he's gay" "No son of mine is gay" Cameron's father said. Scott turned to look at Cameron. "You told me that they knew" "Is this true Cameron?" Cameron's mother asked. "Is this boy telling the truth?" Cameron didn't answer. "Well boy?" His father said. "Is he telling the truth?" "I think you had better leave" Cameron's mother said to Scott. Scott looked at Cameron and then just turned around and left.
It was Friday in Kings Oak and the autumn weather was starting. As Billy walked across the car-park heading towards Crossroads a small shower started. Billy started to run and managed to get into Crossroads before the rain get heavier. "Ah Billy" Angel said walking towards him. "Have you thought about my offer?" "Angel running Crossroads Kitchens isn't what I had in mind when I came back here. I wanted to open my own Bistro" "Well working here will give you something to do while you look for places" "When would you want me to start?" "Straight away. Vince is making a really hash of things" "Very well" "But the menu stays the same. I don't want you cooking any rubbish you did when Kate owned this place. As you can understand times have changed"
Joe was sitting in his mother's living room. The storm outside was clearly visible through the window. "Have you found anything more about Jenny?" Sylvia asked drinking some tea. "I haven't really had the chance. Jimmy's death and everything" "Yes how is Cleo?" "She's fine" Joe replied. "Have you done any digging?" "A bit. I've re-contacted all her friends but nothing new came up" "And the man she was having an affair with have you remembered who that was?" "Joe she never told me. All I knew was she was having a relationship with a married man" "Well did she say where he lived or anything?" Sylvia thought for a few moments. The storm outside was getting faster and heavier and the howls of the wind could now be heard. "No she didn't. I didn't really want all the details Joe. I didn't agree with what she was doing" Joe sighed and then got up. "Well I'm going to the Police" "You can't!" Sylvia replied rushing up. "Lets give it a few more weeks Joe" "She could be dead in a ditch for all we know and you want to wait" "We don't know she's dead. Put another picture in the paper Joe. If nothing comes from that then we'll go to the police" "Well it might help. I have to get back to Crossroads" "You're not going on the bike?" Sylvia asked. "Yeah" "Joe there's a storm out there. The only person who will be dead in a ditch is you in this weather"
In Michelle Grace's guest room all the lights were on. The storm had caused day to almost become night. There was a knock at the door and Michelle got up and answered it. Patty Maynard was standing behind the door. "You wanted to see me" Patty said. "Yes its about my sister" "Angel is the best person to talk to about Sister Grace" "Perhaps but I think Angel had something to do with my sister's accident" Patty looked concerned at Michelle's statement and walked inside the room. "Angel had nothing to do with Sister Grace's shooting. Everyone here suspects Ethan Black" "Yes I know. But why would he kill Jimmy Samson and shoot my sister?" "I think that is for the Police to find out don't you? You're not the only one looking for answers Michelle. Neither are you the only person hurting. My daughter has just lost her son" "She seems to be coping remarkable well" "Everyone deals with pain in different ways. Let the Police do the investigations and visit your Sister."
Phil was pushing the cleaning trolley down a corridor when she heard Carl call out from behind her. "Phil. I need to talk to you" "Forget Carl I'm not interested in anything you have to say" Carl managed to catch up with Phil. "Please let me explain" "There's nothing to explain. You lied to me and started to gamble again" "It wasn't like that" Phil slapped Carl around the face and shouted at him. "You must think I'm a complete idiot. Our whole relationship has been one lie and now its over. Get out of my face and Crossroads" Phil then carried on pushing the trolley. Betty came out one of the rooms and saw Carl rubbing his face. "What's ever the matter?" "Me and Phil has split up" "Over the raid?" Betty asked. "It wasn't like it seemed." "Then what was it like? Because I can see Phil's point of view"
Vince walked into the Kitchen soaked. "Its raining bucket loads out there. I hate Autumn" Vince took of his coat and headed for his office when he saw Billy in his kitchen cooking. "What's going on here?" The soaked chef asked. "Angel wanted me to take over to you. She said you needed some time off" "Time off? Did she now well we'll see about that" Vince replied. He then stormed out of the kitchens. Kate walked into Crossroads, like Vince, soaked. She walked over to the reception desk. "Any messages for me Virginia?" "None Mrs Russell. How are plans for your wedding going?" "Fine. Jonathan has all of that under hand" "Oh good. Rocky and I have got a wedding planner, Gloria, Billy's ex" Kate smiled "We have a wedding planner too, Kelly Stanton." Before Kate and Virginia could finish their conversation Vince came storming over. "Where is she?" He said. "Where is who?" Kate asked. "The so called Queen of Crossroads. Angel Samson!" "Vince what is wrong?" "I'll tell you what is wrong! Angel flaming Samson has given Billy a job in my kitchens claiming that I need some time off" "Are you sure?" Kate asked. "Billy just told me so" "Virginia where is Angel?" "In her apartment Kate"
At the breakfast table in Cameron's house the atmosphere was full of tension. No one was speaking and the rain and the wind was all the sounds that could be heard. Cameron's father finally broke the silence. "Is what that ponce said true?" Cameron father said. Cameron didn't reply. "Well" He roared. "Yes" Cameron replied. "Leave Betty" Cameron's father said. "George don't be silly" "No son of my mine is gay, Betty. Now leave." Cameron's mother looked very concerned but then left and closed the door behind her.
Scott was in his apartment watching telly. Tracey came out of the bathroom wearing her uniform. "Scotty darling shouldn't you be getting ready for school?" "There is no school today. It's a training day" "Scotty don't lie to me darling. Are they giving you a hard time about being gay?" Tracey replied sitting next to Scott. "I'm not gay" Replied Scott angrily. "But you and Cameron." Tracey replied looking very confused. "There is no me and Cameron." Scott shouted back. He stood up and walked over to the door. "Well where are you going now?" "School?" "But you just said there was no school" "Well I lied" Scott said as he slammed the door. "Well the bad weather hasn't stopped them coming in has it?" Oona said looking at a pub full of punters. "Yes love. But Crossroads will come fighting back you know" "And we'll come back with whatever they throw at us Dave. Oona Stocks isn't going to let Angel Samson win this battle. I got my Sable back and we'll give Crossroads a good run for there money" "But Oona this is going to cost us more than it will make" "Don't be silly Dave. Look at all this lot. We'll make a small fourtaune from this lot. And then there's the karaoke tonight. We always make money from that"
Wanda was sitting in her room eating chocolates and watching daytime television when Phil walked in. "Oh hello Love" Wanda said. "Nasty weather ain't it" "I'm not interested in the weather mum." "Oh well" Wanda replied. "Want a chocolate?" "Mum I'm here because I want to know why Lola had time off this week?" "Well what makes you think I know love?" "Because me and Belle don't and Lola might have told you" "Well she ain't told me nothing" Wanda replied. "Why don't I believe you? Mum this is important why won't you tell me?" "Lola made me promise love" "Mum if there's something wrong with Lola then I want to know about it" "There's nothing wrong with Lola now, Love" "What do you mean now? Just tell me what happened" "Oh alrite but it didn't come from me. She had an abortion"
DC Richardson walked into Kings Oak CID department and headed over to DS Jenson. "Max Samson is with the DCI now" He said. "Is he here about the arson?" DS Jenson replied. "Partly and then there's the raid on his casino" "That was authorised by the supt and we're still checking through the books" "Samson knows you are still investigating the case" "Can he prove it?" "I don't know but him and Macwell are friends and Macwell will believe anything Max tells him" "Perhaps but surely the DCI knows if he gets too connected with Max rumours of corruption will start to fly around" DS Jenson replied.
Break
Phil walked into the apartment she shared with her sisters. Lola was lying on the top bed. "Why didn't you tell me?" Phil asked. "Tell you what?" Lola said. "About the abortion" "She told you. She promised me she wouldn't" "I made her Lola. That's not the point why didn't you tell me or Belle" "Because its none of your business." Lola got up and got down to the floor. "Where are you going?" Phil asked. "To have a go at mum. She promised me she wouldn't say anything" "Does the father know?" Phil asked. "The only person who knew was mum, its probably half way around Crossroads now"
"Is that all?" Angel said. "You've come up here because I replaced that annoying chef with Billy?" "Annoying" Vince roared. "I'm one of the best chefs in the country" "In fact case you'll have no trouble finding work elsewhere" "Angel what are you saying?" Kate asked. "Vince is fired" "Angel you can't do that" Kate replied. "This is my hotel and I can do what I like" "You can't just sack Vince and replace him" "Oh can't I Kate. I think you're rather forgetting who owns this place" "I doubt that Angel" "How dare you be so insolent. You're sacked both of you" "You can't" "Max isn't here any more Kate. I can and have sacked you"
Belle was sitting in the bar drinking a cola and reading a magazine when her mobile rang. She picked it up and answered it. "Hello...yes..I can do next week.okay" Belle put her phone down and Tracey came over. "Who was that?" she asked. "The dating agency. I have a date" "Oh good." Tracey replied. She looked up to see Kate and Vince walking into the bar. "Kate are you okay?" Tracey asked. "Angel has just sacked me and Vince" "Well why?" Belle asked. "Because she can" Kate replied. "Someone needs to stand up to that woman" Vince replied. "Vince is right Kate. Crossroads wouldn't run at all if it weren't for you" "I wouldn't shout that to loudly otherwise she'd sack you two as well" "Angel already has it in for me" Belle replied. "She tried to sack me last week" Ryan came over, having heard part of the conversation. "What's this about my mother sacking you?" He asked. "It doesn't matter Ryan" Kate replied. "Yes it does. Angel has sacked Vince and Kate" Tracey said. "And replaced me with Billy" Vince added. "Did she say why?" "Because she can" Vince said. "Right well ignore her. You're both hired again" "Angel will go mad" Kate replied. "And what about Billy" Vince asked. "He's sacked. I'll talk to mum about it" Ryan walked out of the bar and up the stairs. "Rather him than me" Belle commented.
Lola stormed into the reception to see Wanda coming out of the health spar. "Happy are you?" Lola said. "What?" Wanda replied. "Happy that you've told Phil? Who else have you told?" "No one love, honest" "Honest. You wouldn't know the meaning of honest if a dictionary smacked you in the face" Belle came out of the bar area and Phil came running over, having chased after Lola. "What's going on?" Belle asked. "I'll tell you later?" Phil replied. "Don't be like that love?" Wanda replied. "I only wanted what was best for you" "You promised me you wouldn't tell anyone and the first chance you got you rang off and told Phil" "It wasn't like that Lola" "I don't care. I want you out of here" Lola shouted back. "Lola love" "just get out of here mum"
Scott was walking towards the Cat in the Moon. The rain had eased up a lot and so had the wind. Cameron came up behind Scott. "Scott I need to talk to you?" Scott turned around to see Cameron. Although Scott didn't know Cameron had been badly beaten. "I have nothing to say Cameron" "Please" "Its over. I never want to see you again and I'm not gay" "You're just saying that" "No I'm not. I mean it Cameron." Scott then carried on walking. Cameron watched as he left and had a tear in his eye. He started to walk off but was clearly in pain.
"I'm so sorry" Angel said. "Ryan had no right to sack you" "And I'm guessing you had no right to hire me. You lied about Vince" "A bit but that's only because I wanted you in the kitchens and not him" "And why's that?" "Surely you can guess that. Vince is gay and no use to me but you're straight and single" Angel said getting closer to Billy. "I really must be going" "Nonsense. Why don't you have a drink with me?" "I don't drink" Billy opened the door to Angel's apartment and quickly made his exit. Angel looked angry and poured her self a drink. She drank half of it and then threw the glass at the wall in anger.
"Betty its freezing and its raining out here" Phil complained as he walked along a path. "Where are we heading" "You'll see" Betty replied. They reached the conservatory and Betty opened the door. They both stepped inside. In the conservatory Carl was sitting at a table. A romantic meal had been planned. "What's going on?" Phil asked. "A romantic meal for two" Betty replied. She then smiled at them both and then left. "Was this your idea?" Phil said. "No it was Betty's" Phil sat down. "And how are you paying for all of this? With the money you won gambling" "I didn't go there to gamble Phil" "It's a casino Carl that's what people do in casino's" "I didn't take any money with me" "You mean you blew it all gambling didn't you?" Phil got up. "Phil please" "Perhaps we would have a chance if you told me the truth" Phil then walked out.
The storm was gradually getting worse and night had fallen. Cameron was walking along Kings Oak. The rain was much heavier and the wind was getting faster. He turned a corner to cross the road. He started to run across but slipped on the floor. He got back up but a car was coming towards him. It was speeding and getting closer and closer, the driver tried to break but the wet road made it impossibly. The car smashed into Cameron and he went flying over the top.
Phil and Belle were sitting at a table in the Cat in the Moon. Carl walked in looking very wet. He sat down at another table and watched as Helen was signing. "Well I'll just take a quick break and then after we'll have some more karaoke" Helen said getting down for the stage. Scott and Tracey were also at the karaoke. "You're not going to sing anything are you?" Scott asked. "I might do" Scott's mobile rang and he answered it. Carl got up on stage and put on a sound track and picked up the microphone. Scott sat down looking upset. "Cameron's dead" He said to Tracey. The music to the song started to play and Carl started to sign.
FOREVER AUTUMN
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old And darker days are drawing near The winter winds will be much colder Now you're not here. I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky And one by one they disappear I wish that I was flying with them Now you're not here. Like the sun through the trees you came to love me Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away Through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way You always loved this time of year Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here
Like the sun through the trees you came to love me Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes As if to hide a lonely tear My lift will be Forever Autumn 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here
Like the sun through the trees you came to love me Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away. Through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way You always loved this time of year Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here 'cause you're not here
