Everyone was in white suits, so they didn't contaminate any of the
evidence. DS Sally Jenson had all the forensic scientists from
Birmingham down in Kings Oak to search for DNA evidence. Sally
Jenson was standing in the small living room of the Beaches Cottage,
where Jimmy & Sister Grace had been shot. DC Michael Richardson came
up behind her.
"Its unlikely they'll find anything after this long" He commented.
"Perhaps but you never know"
"I don't know why you didn't get all this done earlier"
"Because the DCI believed that the shootings were done by a hitman
and there would be no evidence up here. He still doesn't fully
believe that Ethan Black could have shot the two"
As the two Police Officers spoke the scientists moved around
examining everything and collecting samples. DS Jenson leant down to
speak with one of the scientists.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"We're taking fingerprints off all the surfaces. From what we can
tell there are at least four different fingerprints on this surface
alone" The scientist replied.
"Will you be able to identify who's finger prints they are?" DS
Jenson eagerly replied.
"Only if they are on file already but you can get all the suspects
in and get finger prints of them"
DS Jenson stood back up and turned to face DC Richardson.
"Are Ethan Black fingerprints on file?"
"I should imagine so. They would have been taken when the
investigation into his mother's death was happening"

Ryan and Patty in the lounge area near Reception. Both were talking
quietly as guests walked by and both were concerned about the
possibility of press over hearing.
"You need to talk to her gran, she went completely crazy"
"Ryan love its probably the stress of recent months. She just needs
a break from this place"
"I think its something more than stress. She was talking to someone
who wasn't there. She had laid a place for someone who wasn't there.
When she through stuff at Joe & Belle it was almost as if someone
had told her too. I think she's seeing someone who's not there"
Patty looked deeply concerned about Ryan's reply. "Are you sure?"
"Completely. I think Jimmy's death has sent her over the edge"
"She hasn't been her self recently. Attacking Max and everything
else. I'll have a word with her. Try and get her away from this
place and see a councillor or something" Patty said getting
up. "I'll have a word with her now"
Just then Angel walked out of the lifts and over to the desk. She
completely ignored Ryan and Patty as she walked by them. Kate came
across the desk, with a newspaper, to speak with Angel.
"Angel" Kate said. Angel, who was looking very powerful in a black
suit, turned and looked at Kate.
"I'm not interested in any puny and meagre subjects you wish to
discuss with me. You are the general manager, Kate, so for once
manage without my constant supervision"
Kate, Virginia & Chloe all looked gob smacked at Angel's blunt
reply. Patty hurried over to the desk.
"Angel I really need to speak with you" Patty said.
"I'm sure you just heard what I said to Kate. The same applies to
you. I am far too busy to indulge myself in whatever over-blown puny
event is bothering you"
"Angel I need to speak to you now. I can either be in public with
the press lapping every word of it or in the privacy of your office.
Which do you prefer" Patty forcefully replied.
"Oh very well Mother" Angel said backing down and heading to the
office. "But make sure it's important enough to waste my time"
Patty rolled her eyes and she disappeared into the office. Ryan came
over to apologise to Kate.
"I'm so sorry about that Kate."
"Don't worry Ryan all over Angel's insults go straight over me these
days"

In the office Angel sat, like a Godfather type figure, at her desk
while Patty sat on the sofa.
"Well" Angel said. "What is it that you want to talk to me about"
"Last night"
"Nope" Angel replied. "I don't want to discuss that"
"Angel love what's the matter. You seem to be so cold and distant"
"Mother you are far too late to play the caring mother. You never
showed any affection for me or Lydia when we were younger"
"Angel no matter what you think of me I am your mother and right now
I am concerned by what Cleo and Ryan are telling me." Angel opened
her mouth to reply but Patty gave her no opportunity to do
so. "Having conversations with people that aren't there, attacking
Max, throwing objects at poor Belle & Joe. Angel dear you're not
well and you need a break"
"That" Angel said getting up and sounding very bitter "Darling is
exactly what I don't want. Has poor old Max put you up to this.
Claim Angel is a mad cow and pack her off to the funny farm while he
reclaims Crossroads? Is that what you two are up to because I can
tell you now It won't work. Angel Samson is not leaving Crossroads
and she is not about to loose it either to a pair of lying, scheming
backstappers."
"Angel you are completely wrong"
"Get out of this office before I demand you leave my Hotel"
Patty sighed and got up and left. Angel sat down and looked at a
picture of Jimmy on her desk. "I sort her out didn't I love" She
said.

"I don't know how you cope, Kate, with her constantly insulting you
like that" Virginia said.
"It doesn't matter Virginia. Most of Angel says goes through one ear
and out the other"
"So what was it you wanted to talk to Angel about?" Virginia said
changing tone as she picked up on the fact that there may be some
gossip involved.
"Oh only this" Kate said showing Virginia the front page of a
newspaper. A picture of Adam Chance and Jill Harvey was on the front
with the headlines "Harvey murderer back at Hotel: Is he taking a
Chance too far?"
Virginia looked at it and was shocked but then noticed something
else. "Kate have you seen this?"
"What?" Kate replied.
"This" Virginia said picking up the paper and turning to page
two. "Former Hotel receptionist talks about her time at Crossroads.
Beena Shah discusses the soon to be wife of Jonathan Price, Kate
Russell and her time of owning Crossroads. She also tells us
exclusively about how she became tangled up in the war between Ethan
Black & The Samson's" Virginia said quoting from the paper.
"Beena would never betray us would she?" Kate asked.
"Why not? That Danny Morris did and look and what he said about
those poor Wise Sisters. Imagine what she will say about when you
rang this place"
Kate looked rather worried as she looked back at the paper and
carried on reading.

Ryan walked into the living room of Lady Alice Fox's mansion. On the
desk was a paper, yet another one covered with articles about
Crossroads. This one was about the fire at the stables and how Ethan
Black or Adam Chance is suspected of starting them.
"Quiet interesting aren't they?" Lady Alice said walking in.
"My personnel favourite is Beena Shah and her Crossroads story. She
has some interesting things to say about you Ryan" Lady Alice
continued. She smiled and then sat down.
"What can I do for you Ryan?"
"I want to see my father"
"Yes I thought either you or Cleo would be over about her. Epically
after he actions made front page news in the Sun" Lady Alice said
producing the said paper. "Very nasty" She added.
"Is he here?"
"Yes he's here. He's helping moving my horses into some temporary
Stables after the fire here. You wouldn't know anything about that
would you?"
"What?"
"Well it was either Ethan Black, Adam Chance or that half barmy hag
Angel"
Max walked in just in time to stop a bitter argument from
happening. "Ryan what are you doing here?"
"It might have something to do with this" Lady Alice said waving the
paper around. Max looked at her and then showed Ryan out of the
room. Lady Alice smiled slightly and decided to carry on reading
Beena Shah's article about Crossroads.
"Well is it about that?" Max said.
"Not really. Its about last night really"
"Why what happened last night?"
"Mum went completely mad over dinner. She laid a place for someone
who wasn't even there and then had a conversation with someone who
wasn't there. Then she screamed and started to throw things at Belle
& Joe"
"What?" Max replied in disbelief.
"Dad we need you back at Crossroads to help us. Cleo & I can't cope
anymore, Mum's sick and we need your help"
"That's not a good idea Ryan. I would just make things worse for
Angel. She'll get better in time"
"Oh right well thanks for your help dad. Cleo and I really
appreciate it"

Wanda Wise walked back through the automatic doors and into
Crossroads. "God its like a flaming circus out there" She said.
Phil came out of Betty's old office in horror as she heard the all-
too-familiar voice.
"Mum" Phil said with horror. "What are you doing here?"
"Well I came back about that Danny didn't I? I'm not `aving him say
things about me and my daughters"
"Oh right" Phil said.
Lola came out of the lift and stopped dead in her tracks at the
sight of Wanda.
"What is she doing back?" Lola shouted. "Did you invite her?" Lola
said looking at Phil.
"Hello Lola" Wanda said. "Aren't ya going to give your mum a hug
then?"
"A hug after what you did?"
"I thought you'd forgiven me for that"
"What on earth gave you that idea?" Lola replied.
Then Danny walked into the reception, from the kitchens and stopped
dead in-between Lola and Wanda. He was like the piggy in the middle.
"Oh there you are" Lola said. "I've been looking for you"
"How dare ya say stuff about my daughters you little runt" Wanda
shouted at Danny.
"How could you mention the abortion"
"Or insult my Phil about her Carl. Those two are made for each other"
Danny kept looking between Wanda and Lola as they were both shouting
at Danny. The whole reception had stopped as the confrontation took
place. Several journalists had come in and were taking pictures of
the two women and Danny.
"You oughta' get a right thumping" Wanda said.
"We had nothing Danny. We could never have been together and that's
why I had an abortion"
"And you upset my Belle about that rubbish with her and Jimmy."
The two women were now closing in on Danny and there was silence in
the reception as everyone looked on. The flashes of the camera were
still happening though.
"How much did you get paid?" Lola asked. "Was it enough to betray
everyone here?"
Lola and Wanda were now only feet away from Danny when two Police
officers barged through the crowd and up to Wanda.
"Are you Wanda Wise?" One of them asked.
"Yeah why?" She replied.
"Wanda Wise I'm arresting you for the theft of a car. You do not
have to say anything."
"What? But I was only borrowing it?" Wanda protested. Phil was
shaking her head as the Two Police officers attempted to escort
Wanda away. The camera's were going wild now and Phil just walked
over to one.
"Do you enjoy this?" She shouted. "Reporting on people's misery"
"Here here" Virginia called out.
"You printed all that rubbish and you don't care what affect it has
on people. Just as long as you get your story"
"Its disgraceful" Virginia replied.
Phil grabbed the camera off the journalist and threw it to the
floor. "I don't want to see anything else about me, my family or
anyone else from Crossroads in your paper otherwise we'll sue" Phil
angrily shouted.
"Yeah and on what grounds love" The journalist replied.
"Libel. You only have that slim balls word to go on. And he can't
prove what he said was true" Phil picked up the camera and handed it
to Virginia.
"Now get out"
The journalists looked at each other and then departed. The crowd in
the reception went away and so had Danny.
"I don't believe mum" Lola was saying as she walked over.
"Phil!" Carl Harvers said coming through the doors. "Why is your mum
being carted off in a Police car?" He asked.
"It's a very long story" Phil said.
"And one with many photographs to go with it" Virginia added.

DCI Macwell and Max Samson were walking down by the river. The wind
was strong and both were wearing long coats.
"There's no easy way to say this Max" DCI Macwell started. "DS
Jenson found something at the cottage"
"What?"
"She found Jenny Robert's fingerprints. We now believe that Jenny
Roberts was working for Ethan and when she failed at whatever it was
she was doing he killed her"
"Does Joe know this?"
"No we're sending someone to talk to him about it."
"We are also concerned for your former receptionist, Honey. We think
that Honey and her daughter are in great danger"
"She had a daughter?" Max asked in surprise.
"Yes the daughter worked for Ethan Black and we think Honey probably
did as well"

Gloria, Kelly, Kate, Virginia, Rio, Tracey, Helen & Nicola were all
in Jonathan's apartments. All of them were being measured for their
outfits.
"I don't know what that cow is doing here?" Tracey said to
Nicola. "Epically after what she did to Scott"
"Who did what to Scott?" Nicola replied rather confused.
"Helen's daughter, Rio. It's all difficult to explain Nicola but
she's a right spoilt cow"
"Oh come on Tracey, Rio has apologised for what she did" Helen
replied.
"I'm sorry" Rio added. "I've told Scott and he believes me"
"You've probably wound him around your little finger" Tracey
bitterly replied.
"Tracey please" Kate said. "I don't need this right now and neither
does Scott"
"I hope it won't be like this on the wedding day" Gloria commented
to Kate.
"So do I"
"Oh Kate it will be a perfect day."
"I only hope you are right Virginia" Kate replied.
"Oh what could possibly go wrong?"


The Church was full of people and everyone was happy. Rocky and
Virginia were at the front. Virginia was in a glamorous white dress
and Rocky was in a stylish suit.
"If anyone here knows any reason why these two shall not lawfully be
wed speak now or forever hold your peace" The vicar said.
The door to the church opened and everyone looked around as Betty
Waddell walked in. She was wearing high heels, a black fur coat and
long golden earrings.
"Oh I know a very good reason" Betty replied as she walked up the
alter"
"Betty what are you doing here?" Virginia asked
"I'm ever so sorry Virginia but I know a very good reason why Rocky
can't marry you"
"Speak this reason," The vicar said.
"Rocky is still married to me" Betty replied smiling. "Hello darling
have you missed me?" Betty said turning to Rocky.
"Of course sweetie" He replied before kissing her. Virginia looked
absolutely horrified at the scene before Betty turned around and
smiled.
"He's mine Virginia. Your too late"


Virginia had let her thoughts drift away, her daydream had taken
over.
"Virginia?" Gloria was calling. "Virginia?"
"Oh yes" Virginia replied.
"What colour will Rocky's suit be?"
"Well black of course" Virginia replied rather confused.

DS Jenson was sitting in Angel's office talking with the powerful
hotel owner.
"It seems I was right to believe you" DS Jenson started. "We now
believe that Ethan Black did kill your son"
"Oh" Angel replied. "And why does the entire Kings Oak Police force
only believe me now?"
"We searched Ethan Black's cottage, the Beaches. We discovered some
finger prints there belonging to Jenny Roberts. We think he killed
Jenny and that Jimmy and Sister Grace discovered that"
"Jenny Roberts was working for Ethan Black?" Angel replied in
surprise.
"Yes that's what we believe."
"We're holding a press conference later today to publish our
findings. We need people to come forward with more information"
"And where is this conference being held?"
"At the Police Station"
Angel got up out of her seat and walked over to DS Jenson. "Oh no.
I'm not having it held at the Police Station. We have all the
necessary facilities here at Crossroads. You can hold it here"
"But.."
"No buts my son died because of Ethan Black and I've been saying so
since Jimmy's death. But now people will actually take notice of me"

Break.

DC Richardson and Joe were talking in Joe's room.
"What is this about?" The handyman worriedly asked. "Have you found
Jenny?"
"No not exactly" DC Richardson cautiously replied.
"Have you found a body then?"
"Mr Winter we haven't found Jenny but we have found something else
connected to her. While searching through The Beaches cottage we
found fingerprints that belonged to your sister. The cottage is
owned by Ethan Black"
"What are you saying?"
"We believe that your sister may have been working with Ethan Black
and that her disappearance may be down to him"
Joe heard DC Richardson with disbelief. "Jenny would never have
worked with Ethan"
"We only suspect that. We're holding a press conference later about
this matter and several others in the hope that people will come
forward with information"

Lady Alice Fox was walking down a street carrying several shopping
bags. She had been out shopping and was now heading back to her car.
She turned off the street and walked down a smaller side road. She
suddenly became aware that she was being followed. She speeded up
and looked behind her but could see nothing. Suddenly four kids
jumped out from an alley and ran in front of her. They were playing
hide and seek and they had already run past Lady Alice Fox. She
smiled and turned as she watched them disappear up the street. She
turned back around and jumped back. A figure in black was standing
in her path. Before Lady Alice could do anything the figure pushed
her to the floor and then disappeared down the alley. Lady Alice
quickly got up and headed for the alley but when she looked down it
there was nothing.

"Joe" Sylvia said in shock as Joe Winter barged his way into her
house.
"Did you know?" Joe shouted.
"Did I know what?" Sylvia replied in confusion.
"That Jenny was working for Ethan?"
"What? I don't believe it"
"Was it Ethan who Jenny was having an affair with?"
Sylvia walked past Joe and poured her self a drink. "Don't be stupid
Joe. Jenny had more sense than to get involved with Ethan Black. Who
told you all this garbish?"
"The Police. They found Jenny's prints at a cottage owned by Ethan"
"The Police?"
"They think Ethan might have killed her"
Sylvia thought and then replied. "I can't believe that. It just
doesn't strike true"
"So you think Jenny is still alive? Because I think she's dead
otherwise she would have got in touch"
"Don't speak like that Joe. We have to have hope"
"Hope? Face it mum Jenny is dead and Ethan Black killed her"

Rio Brook walked into the bar and sat down at a table. She had
enough with the dress fittings and slipped away when nobody was
watching.
"Can I get you a drink?" Danny said coming over.
"No" Rio replied. "I'm fine"
"Well if you're sure"
"Look what do you want?"
"Well that's not very friendly"
"And neither is what you did to the Wise Sisters very friendly
either. My mum told me all about it"
"Well all of it was true"
"And like you would know. Just creep off somewhere else"
"Anyway what you did to Scott Booth wasn't friendly either"
"Yeah well that was different"
"Oh of course"
Rio got up and walked out of the bar area.

"There he goes again" Vince commented from the reception
desk. "Upsetting someone else" He was, of course, referring to
Danny's actions with Rio. "Someone should teach him a lesson"
"Yeah and soon" Phil replied as she walked out of Betty's office.
"Well what did you have in mind?" Vince eagerly asked.
"Humiliation" Phil went. "Like he did to my sisters"
"I agree. Come on I have an idea"
Vince dragged Phil into Betty's office. Moments later they returned.
"Chloe you couldn't do a favour for me could you?" Vince asked.
"What?" The receptionist replied.
"You couldn't give Danny a message?"
"Do I have too?"
"Believe me it will be well worth it" Phil replied trying to
persuade her.
"Why what are you up to?"
"Wait and see" Vince and Phil replied smiling.

Danny walked into the empty kitchens. "Where is everyone?" He noted.
The Kitchens should be packed with people but no one was there. He
didn't notice that in Vince's office Phil, Vince & Chloe were
looking on. They had the blinds have drawn.
"Now" Phil whispered to Vince.
"No just a little further"
Danny walked into the centre of the kitchen.
"Right here we go" Vince said. The blinds shot up and then the
kitchen was being drowned in water. The fire sprinklers had come on
and Danny was getting soaked. He looked back to the door but Lola
and Belle were standing, with an umbrella, smiling at him.
"Going somewhere?" Belle teasingly asked.
He looked back to the other exit near Vince's office but Phil and
Chloe were there with a camera. They took several pictures of Danny
getting very wet.
"Hey cut it out" He called.
"Not nice is it?" Vince said. "When you're the one who's being
humiliated.
"Okay so I've learnt my lesson just cut out the water will ya?"
"Do we believe him?" Vince said speaking to the others.
"You must be kidding" Lola replied.
"Thought so. Oh well see you later Danny" Everyone left the kitchens
via their respective exits. Danny smiled and walked over to the one
where Lola & Belle had been standing but it was locked. Belle and
Lola appeared at the small port windows swinging a key. He dashed
across the kitchen to Vince's kitchen but slid and fell. Lola &
Belle laughed and then disappeared.
Outside the other exit Phil, Vince & Chloe were discussing what to
do.
"How long are you going to leave him there?" Chloe asked.
"Oh well the water will cut out in five minutes or so anyway"

In a large conference room members of the press and Police had
gathered. DS Sally Jenson, DCI Macwell & another Police Officer were
sat at the table. The room was a hive of noise but that soon went
down.
"Thank you for all attending" DS Jenson started. "We're holding this
conference in aid to get people to come forward with information on
the disappearance off these individuals. A screen lit up behind them
and several faces appeared. "Jenny Roberts was last seen in January
of this year. Harvey Solomon disappeared in April while Honey
Raymond and her daughter disappeared in July."
"Is there anything to connect these disappearances?" Someone called
out.
"Yes" DCI Macwell interrupted. "All of them are linked to one man"
"That's right" DS Jenson said taking back over. "Ethan Black. We
have DNA evidence to place Jenny Roberts at a propriety owned by Mr
Black. Harvey Solomon was last seen entering Mr Black's mansion. And
Nicky Raymond worked for Mr Black while her mother worked her at
Crossroads and was seeing Jimmy Samson. Jimmy Samson and a close
friend of the Samson's, Sister Grace, were shot in a cottage in July
of this year."
"Do you think that Mr Black is responsibly for the shootings?"
Another voice called out.
"Yes we believe he is and we have a warrant out for his arrest. But
we need information on the disappearances. We are very concerned for
all of them and if you have information on the disappearances please
ring the number at the bottom of the screen"
Ryan was standing at the back of the room watching.
"They're not dead" Jimmy Samson said. This ghost was warmer and
kinder than the one taunting Angel.
"No?" Ryan replied.
"No. Honey and Nicky are alive Ryan but they won't be for long. He
has them Ryan and he'll kill them"
"I know"
"Then take Joe and get to him before the Police do. Do it for me
Ryan"

Adam Chance wasn't at Crossroads. He was walking down a street,
where he would meet his contact.
"You've been busy" The figure's voice came.
"I don't know what you mean" Adam replied.
A paper with his face on landed on his feet. "Always nice to publish
your return"
"I'm sorry it wasn't my fault"
"It doesn't matter. Angel and her hotel came off worse than you did.
Have you any news?"
"Not much. Max is staying with Lady Alice Fox. They might be having
an affair"
"Investigate" The figure replied.
Adam walked away and the figure laughed. She picked up the paper and
looked at the photo. "Oh Adam its all too easy with you"

Michelle Grace had listened to the press conference and decided to
pay her sister a visit. She was walking past the ward's reception
when the Male Nurse came after her.
"Mrs Grace I'm glad I caught up with you"
"Has there been any chance?"
"Your sisters life signs have improved but that doesn't mean she is
about to awaken from her coma. Even if she does she might not make a
full recovery. She may never regain her memory of the attack or she
might take a turn for the worse"
"But?" Michelle Grace said sensing there was more to come.
"But it is a good sign. It shows that she is responding to
treatment."
"Can I see here?"
"Certainly she's in the same room"
Michelle Grace walked off into the side room that her sister
occupied. She sat down beside the bed.
"I'm sorry. I should have trusted you about Angel. I know she had
nothing to do with this now and the police are after Ethan Black.
They'll get him soon and you'll get better"

The Police were everywhere. Searching every room but there was
nothing. DCI Macwell walked into Ethan Black's living room.
"Well?" He asked.
"Nothing so far" DC Richardson replied.
They looked around to see an empty room. "Someone must have warned
him" The DCI concluded.
In a priest whole next to the fire place Ethan, Nicky and Honey were
hiding. Nicky and Honey were gagged and bound and both were
frightened. Ethan was pointing a gun in their direction as he
listened to the events outside.
"This is pointless" DCI Macwell said. "He's probably not even in the
country any more"

Jake Booth walked through the airport and headed for the taxi rank.
He walked inside a small shop and all the papers had Crossroads and
various events there on the front page. On several Tracey and Helen
were on them, Adam occupied a few others and Angel had a few as
well. Jake picked up one with Helen & Tracey fighting on and smiled.
"What have you been up to this time?" He commented.
