Crossroads came back to ITV on March 5th, 2001. It introduced 23 new characters and bought back three from the original production that ended 13yrs earlier. The show disappeared on Fridays from September 10th, 2001 and then disappeared altogether for four months at the end of August 2002. It returned in January 2003 and after just eight weeks, on March 10th, the axe fell and the show disappeared from the schedules at the end of May with an excellently-made final episode that basically stuck two fingers up at ITV.
